Rudraksh had joined the Paradise Children’s Home, a playgroup school, only three days ago, police added.

His father Piyush Chauhan, a college professor, left him at the school on Thursday morning. When he went back a couple of hours later, he was told his son was not well and was being attended to by doctors, police said.

He was then taken to the staff room. There a doctor was examining the child.

Chauhan was then told that his son had fallen into the swimming pool and was unconscious.

Chauhan immediately rushed Rudraksh to the Pushpanjali Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The doctors said the boy had died more than three hours ago.

This stunned the family.

Later, when the Chauhan’s neighbours reached the school, they found the gates locked and no one was there. Parents and guardians have accused the school management of neglect.

No FIR has been lodged yet.
