20 pistols, 44 magazines seized

Five persons allegedly involved in illegal trade of firearms were arrested with 20 9mm pistols and 40 magazines from a hotel today, police sources said.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the hotel and arrested Md Bholu, Md Shahwaz, Md Rabbani, Md Manjur Alam and Md Bulauddin, engaged in illegal arms' trade, the sources said.

The police later unearthed an illicit mini gun factory on the information provided by them at Khanka village in the district, they said.

Four pistol-making machines, auto leth machine, two grinding machines, besides two drilling machines and 27 unfinished pistols were seized from the factory, sources said.

While Md Ufran, the owner of the factory managed to flee, police captured two gun-makers from the spot, they said.
