22nd batch leaves for Amarnath yatra

A fresh batch of 1,011 pilgrims leaves Jammu for the Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas

A fresh batch of 1,011 pilgrims left Jammu on Thursday for the Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas.

Thursday's batch, comprising 632 men, 269 women, 17 children and 93 sadhus, left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu around 0515 hours , officials said.

With Thursday's batch, as many as 46,524 pilgrims from different parts of the country have left from jammu so far since the beginning of the pilgrimage on June 17.

Officials said nearly 4.54 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the cave shrine since the beginning of the yatra last month.
