A 23-year-old woman was crushed to death by a speeding school bus, attached to a reputed private school, at Mohan Nagar intersection, near Indirapuram on Monday morning.

Ranjana Soni succumbed to her injuries on the spot, while the driver of the school bus fled, leaving the bus behind.

The victim was stated to be a resident of Indira Garden in Lajpat Nagar and was heading for her office in Ghaziabad.

“She was walking along the road when the bus hit her from behind. We have seized the school bus and are looking for the driver,” a police spokesperson said.

The police have registered a case under section 279 (rash driving) and 304a (causing death by negligence) of IPC against the absconding driver. HTC
