3 children succumb to JE in Gorakhpur

Three more children succumbed to killer JE mounting the death toll since the outbreak of the disease to 934 in 7 districts of Gorakhpur and Basti.

Three more children succumbed to killer Japanese Encephalitis in the last 24 hours mounting the death toll since the outbreak of the disease to 934 in seven districts of Gorakhpur and Basti divisions.

A health official said in Gorakhpur that as many as 20 fresh patients were admitted at BRD medical college and district hospitals of the region, Additional Director, Health CBM Tripathi said.

He said a total of 4077 patients have been admitted to the medical college and district hospitals of adjacent districts since the outbreak of the disease.

Out of these 934 succumbed to the killer disease.

As many as 200 patients are presently under treatment in the BRD medical College and district hospitals.
