3 robberies in 24 hrs

The robbers, it seems, were on holiday when the country was voting.
Elections are over now. Robberies have begun.
In the last 24 hours, unidentified robbers have struck at three locations in Ghaziabad. In all three robberies, bikes were used to escape.
Unfazed by the elaborate patrolling and beefed-up security, robbers struck once again on Saturday at Shalimar Garden and at Rajnagar District Centre (RDC) area in Ghaziabad.
In the first incident, cash and jewellery amounting to Rs 20 lakh was robbed from a flower merchant’s house in Shalimar Garden early in the morning. Akhtar Khan, the florist, said the armed robbers locked up his family members in a bathroom.
In the second incident, two bikers snatched a bag of two transport company employees in RDC area outside the HDFC Bank robbing them of over Rs 5 lakh. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon.
On Friday afternoon, two armed robbers barged inside Syndicate Bank in Sector-3, Vaishali. and robbed Rs 6 lakh. They later escaped on a bike towards the Delhi-UP border.
“Patrolling has been enhanced and tenant verification drive will be strictly followed in Loni and Indirapuram,” said SSP Akhil Kumar. We are coordinating with the Delhi Police and exchanging information on the robbers operating in border areas.”
