The slight intensity quake occurred about 128 km below the earth's surface at 7.48 PM, the IMD said. The quake was felt in parts of Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura and Mizoram.

There was no report of any damage in the quake, which is the third tremor felt in the highest seismic-prone region within five days. A quake measuring 4.3 with epicenter in Meghalaya-Bangladesh border was recorded on September 19, a day after the devastating 6.8 magnitude quake that had left a trail of devastation in Sikkim and affected adjoining Darjeeling Hills and North Bengal.
