Acting on a tip-off, a police team surrounded the hideout of a dacoit gang belonging to Gurjar community in the forests when they were planning a dacoity late Friday night, Superintendent of Police Asha Mathur said. Four of them, identified as Bhagwan Singh Gurjar, Avatar Singh Gurjar, Mod Singh Gurjar and Bane Singh Gurjar, were arrested while one gang member fled under cover of darkness, she said.

A country-made gun, some cartridges, two swords and an axe were recovered besides a stolen tractor and two motorcycles, Mathur said adding that efforts were on to nab the dacoit who fled.
