The decision came on Monday in a meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board that chairman governor NN Vohra had convened in New Delhi. Members Sri Sri Ravi Shankar; Dr Kapila Vatsyayan; justice GD Sharma (retd); Pandit Bhajan Sopori; Vijay Dhar; Dr Ved Kumari Ghai; chief executive officer Navin Choudhary; and additional CEO Preet Pal Singh were present.

For planning the duration and beginning of the 2014 pilgrimage, the board relied upon suggestions from its subcommittee that is led by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and was formed in July 2011 to make the yatra schedule.

The CEO has orders to arrange a special prayer on the day of Jyesth Purnima on June 13, if possible at the cave shrine, to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva for the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage.

Registration will open on March 1. The CEO will publicise at frequent intervals that the intending pilgrims need to furnish the prescribed compulsory health certificate from authorised doctors and medical institutes; and upload the state-wise information of nominated doctors and institutions on the board website.
