It was noteworthy that unidentified motorcycle borne miscreants had looted Rs 20 lakh from Pulse Agro Chemical Ltd, a Chandigarh-based company, which has its branch office at Shahi Market.
The bank employee Deep Chand sustained serious injuries while employees of Hotel Suraj were also injured. Police have already arrested five persons in this case.
SP Raja Srivastav awarded Rs 15000 to the police team, who worked out the case.
According to police, Shivendra Singh, an employee in zonal office of the firm was involved in the case as he was preparing to contest the assembly election from Shyamdeurwa assembly constituency of Maharajganj district.
Acting on a clue, police arrested him on Sunday. Producing the main accused before the media persons SSP Raja Srivastav said the miscreants Shivendra Singh was arrested at Asuran crossing in the wee hours of Sunday.
His fellow Kanhaiya Lal Paswan, a resident of village Dumri under Gulharia police station managed to flee. Police claimed that Shivendra Singh, of Sunaura Khurd under Campierganj police station residing in Shahpur, was planning to leave the city in the wee hours of Sunday and the police arrested him.
Police also arrested the other accused identified as Kanhaiya Lal Paswan, Anand Singh, Premchand and Gulab.
Police recovered Rs 2.30 lakh from possession of Kanhaiya Lal, Rs 5.47 lakh from possession of Shivendra Pratap Singh, Rs 4.30 lakh from possession of Premchand along with two living cartages.
Police also recovered Rs 2.70 lakh from the possession of Anand Singh and Rs 2.70 from Gulab Chand.
SSP said Anand Singh and Premchand had looted the cash from Deep Chand while another miscreant who have yet to be arrested managed to runaway.
SSP Raja admitted that sensational loot had put police administration in a tight spot and expressed satisfaction on work out of the loot.. DGP awarded Rs 20,000 to the police team from his side and DIG has awarded Rs 5,000 along with Rs 2500 award from SSP Raja Srivastav.
