5 killed in J&K bus accident

The bus was on its way from Udhampur to Panchari when technical problem developed, leading to the accident.

Five persons were killed and 51 others injured when a bus skidded off the road and fell down a 100-feet gorge in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday afternoon.

The bus was on way its from Udhampur to Panchari area when it developed some technical problem leading to the accident at Bay Nullah, about 82 km from here, they said.

Rescue teams were rushed to the accident site and four bodies were extricated from the wreckage of the bus, they said adding that the injured were taken to Udhampur district hospital.

One of them succumbed to his injuries in hospital and the condition of some others was stated to be critical, they said.
