As many as six persons died and one got seriously injured as a tempo-Traveler (Tavera) rolled down a 1000 feet gorge at Minas Mod in the Nerwa area of Shimla district adjoining the Uttarakhand border. Superintendent of Police (SP), Shimla, Sonal Mohan Agnihotri said the accident took place at 2:00 PM in the afternoon.

“Four people died on the spot while two succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital,” Agnihotri said.
Police officials at Nerwa police station told that ill-fated Tavera jeep (DL4CM- 8119) carrying eight people rolled down a deep gorge at Uttrakhand border 135 kilometers from Shimla. Deceased were in Himachal to attend a function.
Two seriously injured have been shifted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC), Shimla after given first aid treatment at Nerwa Hospital.
Among the deceased Satish, Ashu, Kaku, Ravi, and Sunil belonged from Delhi while Chandan was from Shillai of Sirmour district in Himachal Pradesh. Injured has been identified as Sarvash Kumar (26) of Delhi. Police has yet not ascertained the reason of the accident but preliminary report says that the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve.
