A court in Etawah on Saturday awarded five years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 each to the wife and adopted son of slain dacoit Nirbhay Gujjar in connection with a theft case two years ago.

Special Judge DK Sharma pronounced the verdict against Neelam Gupta and Shyam Jatav alias Radhey Shyam, his adopted son, under various provisions of IPC, including the dacoit infested area and arms act.
Both Neelam and Jatav had surrendered before the Etawah court after revolting against the gang on July 31, 2004. Ornaments worth Rs two lakh and some weapons were later recovered on the basis of information provided by the duo which they had hidden somewhere.
