60-year-old woman robbed in Amravati

Three unidentified persons, who impersonated as policemen deceived a woman and took away gold ornaments worth Rs 81,000 at Railway station bridge on Sunday, police said.

Three unidentified persons, who impersonated as policemen deceived a woman and took away gold ornaments worth Rs 81,000 at Railway station bridge on Sunday, police said.

Snehalata Hukumchand Pendhari(65), a resident of Murai Apartment of Khaparde garden locality, had gone to Mahavir temple at Rallies Plot for performing puja, police said.

While returning from the temple, three unidentified persons followed her and stopped her near the Railway bridge and asked her to remove the gold ornaments, they said.

The woman removed the four bangles and one necklace worth Rs 81,000. They looted the gold ornaments by pretending to help her to knot it in the saree, police said.

Snehlata registered a complaint at Kotwali police station and investigation is on, police said.
