66.63% repolling in AP

An estimated 66.63 per cent voters cast their votes in 22 polling booths spread over 16 assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh which passed off peacefully.

An estimated 66.63 voters today cast their votes in 22 polling booths spread over 16 Assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh which passed off peacefully.

The Election Commission had ordered repolling due to complaints of malfunctioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and incidents of attacking and destroying voting machines during the first phase of elections held on April 20 for 21 Lok Sabha and 147 assembly seats.

Pathabobbili polling station in Bobbili Lok Sabha constituency recorded the highest turnover of 82.9 per cent polling while lowest 34.9 per cent was registered in Jeedimetla polling station under Siddipet parliamentary constituency, state election sources said on Thursday.

Of the 22 polling stations five were in Warangal Parliamentary constituencies, four in Mahaboobnagar,three each in Nagarkurnool and Bobbili, two each in Siddipet and Bhadrachalam and one each in Khammam, Srikakulam and Parvathipuram Lok Sabha constituencies.
