7 dead as bus falls into a river in Jharkhand

The bus was carrying nearly 60 people when it fell into Tendwa river near Manjhigao village in Garwah district.

Seven people died and nine are still missing as the bus they were travelling in fell into a river Wednesday, the police said.

According to the police, the bus was carrying nearly 60 people when it fell into Tendwa river near Manjhigao village in Garwah district, around 130 km from Ranchi.

The driver of the bus apparently lost control and the bus broke the railing of a bridge and fell into the river, the police said.

Seven bodies have been recovered so far and 28 injured, four of them critically, have been admitted to a local hospital. The district administration has intensified search operations for the missing people.
