At least seven security men were killed on late Tuesday in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region as Maoist extremists triggered coordinated blasts.

"We have total seven casualties including four personnel of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and three of the district police force," Inspector General Girdhari Nayak said.

He added that the incident took place in an interior forested belt of Narayanpur area, 290 km south of state capital Raipur. Extra troopers were sent to launch retaliatory actions.
