7-year RI for man in rape case

Two other persons were sentenced for beating up the victim’s kin who had gone in search for the girl when she went missing from the house. The incident had occurred on May 25, 2003.

The victim, a 13-year-old girl, had gone out of the house for washing hands after serving food to her siblings when Arvind Ahirwar, 19, caught hold of her and took the girl near the Power Plant where he raped the girl.

When the girl’s parents, Tulsi Ram and Guddi, went out to search the girl, Arvind and three others — Makhan Singh, 23, Malkhan Singh, 20 and Madan Singh, 30, beat up the couple. The girll’s parents had got a case registered against the four persons for rape, kidnapping minor, voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation. Subsequently, the charge-sheet was filed in the court, evidence was presented in the court.

Additional Sessions Judge AK Pandey sentenced Arvind to seven-year each for rape and kidnapping minor girl and a fine of Rs 11,000. Makhan was sentenced to six-month jail term under Section 325 while Madan was sentenced to three days under the Section 323. One accused, Malkhan, was acquitted. The judge ordered to pay a compensation of Rs 10,000 to the victim.
