Their votes will decide which among the 200 restaurants in 21 cuisine categories and 27 nightspots in the Best Bar category will win as the best food and night out destination in town.

The nominees have been picked by HT City and will feature in our 2010 Eating Out and Night Out Guides as the city’s Top Tables. Owners of the nominated places are keeping their fingers crossed.

Varun Tuli of The Yum Yum Tree, which was nominated in the Best Oriental category last year and has been nominated again, says, “I’d like to think that we’ll win again.” Mi Ran Lee, owner of Korean restaurant Kumgang Gonie, says, “We are thrilled to be nominated.”

Each week for the next two weeks, we will feature the nominees, along with our reviews. You can vote in three simple ways — by SMS, by logging on to our website, or by filling out a form and depositing it in a box at the nominated restaurants. Voting will end at midnight on October 10. Winners will be declared in an awards ceremony in mid-October.

In today’s edition, we look at nominees in the Pan Asian, Specialised Southeast Asian, Japanese, Coastal, and All Day Dining and Coffee Shops categories. Turn to pages 14, 15 and 16 for details.
