A1 Team India recorded its best finish this season finishing 6th and adding five more points. After qualifying in 11th place, Karthikeyan battled out at an exciting race that saw several cars - including A1 Team New Zealand, A1 Team Canada, A1 Team Ireland and even A1 Team Germany- spin off the track at the very first corner.

Karthikeyan consistently picked up places as he moved up the grid and drove with what proved to be the most important factor - a safe, clean line. A tough mid-race battle between A1 Team Switzerland, A1 Team France and A1 Team Great Britain made for some very exciting racing action for the cheering home crowd.

Through some great racing skill and luck, Karthikeyan avoided several cars that spun off in front of his car, which proved to dampen the chances of success for several cars following. With 17 laps to go, A1 Team India had used 5 power boost opportunities, reflecting in Narain's strong performance as he pushed the car further and further toward the front of the grid with a fastest lap time of 1:50.161 seconds in his 34th lap. The team pulled off 2 very efficient pit stops bolstering Karthikeyan ahead.

Said Karthikeyan, "I am happy with our performance. We raced hard and things went well for the team. However, a better qualifying position could have taken us further up the grid. I look forward to bringing home more points from our next race at Zhuhai."
