AAP declares more names

The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday announced the third list of 18 candidates shorlisted for eight assembly constituencies The names include a former NSG commando Surendra Singh, who fought terrorists during the 26/11 attack at Mumbai, for Delhi Cantonment seat.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday announced the third list of 18 candidates shorlisted for eight assembly constituencies The names include a former NSG commando Surendra Singh, who fought terrorists during the 26/11 attack at Mumbai, for Delhi Cantonment seat.

A total of 95 candidates had applied from eight assembly segments: Ballimaran, Delhi Cantonment, Hari Nagar, Karawal Nagar, Mangolpuri, Narela, Sangam Vihar and Timarpur. "Of the 18 short-listed candidates, eight are women," AAP said in a statement.

AAP said it has tried to include people from all social groups. The average age of the candidates is approximately 36 years.

The youngest candidate is Wasim Ahmad Sonawale (25) from Ballimaran while the oldest is Baljeet Singh Mann (60) from Narela. Man's father was in the Azad Hind Fauj, led by Subash Chandra Bose. HTC
