Aban's subsi acquires W Africa Drilling

Aban Singapore has acquired a 100 per cent stake in West Africa Drilling NV and signed an agreement in order to purchase a drillship.

Aban Loyd Chiles Offshore Ltd on Saturday said that its subsidiary, Aban Singapore Pte Ltd, has acquired a 100 per cent stake in West Africa Drilling NV and signed an agreement in order to purchase a drill-ship.

After the completion of the sale purchase agreement, Aban Singapore Pte Ltd would drill four wells and has entered into a contract with operators for the same. Further drilling of four more wells in West Africa is also in the pipeline.

The drill-ship is to be named 'Aban Abraham', the Chennai-based company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
