After two schedules, during which 70 per cent of the shooting was completed, the film ground to a halt after Dutt was convicted for possession of arms in November 2006 and in July 2007 was given a six-year sentence.

After he got bail from the Supreme Court, Dutt decided to first wrap up his pending films one of which was Kidnap by the same production house.

But Mr Fraud remained in the cans since the producers couldn’t get dates from the rest of the cast and crew.

Dates for December
Hope floated after the producers snapped up Dutt for their underwater adventure film, Blue, also featuring Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta.

Now that Kidnap has released and Blue is in the post-production stages, plans are afloat to revive Mr Fraud.

Neither the producers nor the director duo were available for comment. But a source assocaited with the movie, confirmed the news. “They have been asking the actors for dates in December,” he informed. “Hopefully we should finish the shooting soon. It’s a fantastic script and comedy has always worked with the audience.”
