'Abhishek is always there for you'

Rohan Sippy speaks to Lalita Iyer about buddy Abhishek Bachchan and his new album with the star. On mixing work and friendship, he says it?s always a difficult thing, but we seem to have managed that. More so, because he is a very ?from the heart? kind of guy ? someone who is very much there for you.

1. Baby steps:
As an actor, Abhishek is still taking baby steps, though he has matured. A lot lies ahead, provided he takes the right decisions. He is as old as his father was when Zanjeer released — shows how far he has to go.

2. Crazy about jammin’:
Music comes naturally to Abhishek. Right here, right now (Bluffmaster) was as a great experience, it so was Abhishek. It comes from the huge repertoire of music that he listens to and is crazy about.

3 Pop goes the movie star:
Vishal, Shekhar and I have just recorded seven tracks for our forthcoming, yet-untitled album. Abhishek will sing in it, of course. I’ll say no actor could have done 10 per cent of the job he’s doing in the album.

4 Walking in his dad’s footsteps:
It was inevitable, and I guess his baptism happened even before he knew it. What makes it easier for Abhishek is that he’s best friends with his dad. They share interests — music for example.

5 Mixing work and friendship:
It’s always a difficult thing, but we seem to have managed that. More so, because he is a very ‘from the heart’ kind of guy — someone who is very much there for you.
