CHIEF MEDICAL officer, Dr Shantimal Singhavi has stopped the salary of a medical officer posted at the Mauaima primary health centre. He has also issued warning to the medical officer incharge of Holagarh primary health centre for delaying the recruitment of Asha workers.

During inspection of Mauaima PHC on Friday, Dr Singhavi found that a medical officer Dr Patel was absent without any prior information. Dr Singhavi ordered to cut his salary and also sought written explanation from him.  The CMO also presided over ANMs meeting at the Mauaima PHC. He said the ANMs should take full interest in the national health programmes. He also trained a batch of 30 Asha workers at the PHC and informed them about their duties and responsibilities regarding managing health programmes in the villages.

Later, the CMO warned the Holagarh PHC incharge to speed up the recruitment of Asha workers. This work said the medical officer was being delayed due to the non-cooperation of the gram pradhans. However Singhavi said that, “the government has fixed November end as the deadline for recruitment of Asha workers and any delay in this regard will not be tolerated.”
