SSU teachers under the banner of Adhyapak Parishad are on dharna outside the main building in view of Saturday?s incident in which some students misbehaved with teachers including the vice-chancellor.

SSU teachers under the banner of Adhyapak Parishad are on dharna outside the main building in view of Saturday’s incident in which some students misbehaved with teachers including the vice-chancellor.
The agitated teachers are demanding stern action against some undisciplined students. However, seven students were rusticated on Sunday, the teachers are also demanding rustication of president and general secretary of students’ union.
Besides, teachers are also demanding lodging of an FIR against those students who misbehaved with some faculty members of SSU. “We would continue our strike till our demands were not fulfilled”, said Dr Hari Prasad Adhikari, secretary of Adhyapak Parishad.
Prof Sarveshwar Rajhans, Dr Somnath Tripathi, Prof Ram Pujan Pandey and Dr Rajnish Kumar Shukla were among others who sat on dharna seeking action against the students.
It may be noted that the SSU administration had rusticated seven students including Saket Shukla, Hemraj Garg, Pradeep Kumar Pandey, Awadhesh Tiwari, Chandra Kishore Mishra, Shashidhar Tiwari and Alp Narayan on Sunday evening.
Sources said some of the senior students took classes of junior students today.
Students’ Union president Ramakant Pandey said: “We would take classes of junior students till the teachers are sitting on dharna.”
