Meanwhile, a meeting of Shahrarabagh-Gosai Tola Vikas Samiti was held here on Friday to discuss the the issue on service centre owner's request where members vehemently opposed the move on various points. Members said that the owners had not obtained clearance either from Pollution Control Board or from any other competent authority so this service centre should not be allowed to function.
It may be mentioned that hundreds of residents belonging to Shahrarabagh, Gosai Tola and Shiv Charan Lal Road had come up against opening of the service centre alleging it would cause air and noise pollution in the residential area.
President of Shahrarabagh- Gosai Tola Vikas Samiti , Giridhar Gopal wrote a letter to the Divisional Commissioner demanding immediate stopping of setting up of the service centre in the area.
UP Minister of State , Virendra Singh Bundela, in his letter addressed to the Commissioner had also asked him to take steps in this direction so that residents may not face pollution in their area. In this peaceful, residential locality the opening of an illegal service station would become a cause of deadly pollution.
To safeguard environment from this deadly pollution this service centre should not be allowed to located there, Bundela added.
