VICE CHANCELLOR of Allahabad University, Prof Rajen Harshe, has stressed on the urgent requirement for the adoption of IT Tools and Technology in teaching and training with a view to expose students about the emerging technologies along with other course curriculum.

Prof Harshe was speaking as chief guest at the 'CIO Summit and CEO Enclave' organised by Allahabad Chapter of Computer Society of India (CSI) in association with Hewlett Packard (HP) on Saturday evening. Earlier he inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
He emphasized that complete change in the mindset and attitude of all concerned combined with a proper plan of action could only transform dream of development into reality and regain the past glory of Allahabad University.
Prof Harshe felt necessity for more closer academia-industry interaction for the advancement of research & development activities in the educational institutions and appreciated sincere efforts of CSI Allahabad Chapter in organizing the activities with top IT giants such as Microsoft, HP etc. for the benefit of the IT professionals of the city.
The event was attended by a large number of Chief Information Officers (CIO's) and Chief Executive Officers (CEO's) of organizations/ industries including Allahabad High Court, Allahabad University, ARIBA, BPCL, BSNL, GEEP, HRI, IFFCO, RECRON, ITI to name a few.
DK Dwivedi, Honorary Secretary, CSI Allahabad Chapter, welcomed the Chief Guest, participants and informed about the necessity and importance of activities such as CIO Summit and CEO Enclave. He said that purpose of such meets of CIO's and CEO's is to provide a common platform where one may interact, share expertise, deliberate on the problems and explore major trends of technology solutions available in the market suiting one's organizational IT requirements.
Prof KK Bhutani, Fellow, CSI and Director, UPTEC appreciated the efforts of CSI Allahabad Chapter in organizing various activities for the benefit of CSI members and other interested IT professionals. He also highlighted the achievements of CSI Allahabad Chapter specifically various awards won at the National and Regional level in the past.
T Usmani, Chairman, CSI, Allahabad Chapter and DGM (R&D), ITI, Naini appreciated the sincere and honest feeling about the need of complete transformation of approach to meet the new challenges of modern world as expressed by the Chief Guest.
On the occasion, presentations on the specific case studies about the IT infrastructure, IT usage and IT Applications in two leading industries of the city viz IFFCO, Phulpur and ITI, Naini were given by CIO's GK Gupta, System Manager, IFFCO, Phulpur and Shailja Gupta, Deputy Chief Engineer of ITI, Naini respectively.
Product Specialists from Hewlett Packard (HP) delivered nice presentations about the cut-edge HP product range of HP Servers, Work Stations, SAN Storage, Desktops, Laptops, Plotters, Printers etc.
Manoj Thakur, Accounts Manager, UP, Alok Sharma, Regional Manager, North and East, Raghav, Ajay, Rajat were few names to mention who were present from HP. RC Yadav, Vice Chairman, CSI Allahabad Chapter, Anil Kumar Gupta, DGM, BSNL, BK Gupta, Deputy Manager (Systems), Hindustan Cables Ltd, Wg Cdr KK Singh, CITO, IAF, Lt Col A Mukherjee, ITO, Selection Centre, IAF, Ashwani Kumar, Arindam Lahiri, Gyanu Ji Srivastava, High Court were few to name out of about 95 participants.
Event was powered by Tritech Enterprises and Trident Enterprises Allahabad, Local Channel Partners of HP. Event ended with vote of thanks by Honorary Secretary, CSI Allahabad Chapter and followed by dinner.
