Police have arrested the boy along with his cousin and recovered the car.

According to reports, on October 27 Prashant, 18, son of doctor Dr Ved Prakash and resident of Salapur, Noida, came to Agra with his father and visited Prem Ford showroom to have a look at the cars. However, Prakash did not select any vehicle and they went back to Noida.

Prashant’s father had promised him a new car on ‘Dhanteras’ but changed his plan and asked him to get good marks in his Intermediate examination to get the car.

Prashant had already told his friends that he was purchasing a car and had even planned trips with his friends. He could not digest the denial by his father and decided to rob a car.

He took along his cousin, Bholu to Agra and called up Prem Ford showroom to bring an Eco Sports car for a test drive at the residence of his aunt, who lives in Sikandra Industrial area of Agra.

An employee of showroom came with car and Prashant, along with his two cousin sisters and Bholu, took the car for a test drive. While returning, Prashant asked the showroom employee to guide him while he reversed the car. But as soon as the employee and his cousin sisters got down from the car, Prashant drove off with it. The showroom staffer informed his employers when Prashant did not return for long.

Later Sikandra police were informed and a search was launched on Yamuna Expressway. Sikandra station house officer Hari Mohan Singh said Prashant and Bholu were arrested from Agra-Mathura highway.
