AIADMK exec meet on May 27 to take stock

AIADMK will introspect its poor showing in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections at its executive meeting here on May 27.

AIADMK will introspect its poor showing in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections at its executive meeting here on May 27.

The party, which went to polls after forming a mega alliance with PMK, MDMK and the Left parties, could win just nine of the 39 parliamentary seats in the state while the alliance won 12 seats in all with one each going to MDMK, CPI and CPI(M).

AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalithaa said in a statement here that individual invitations will be sent to the executive members.

The meeting, to be presided over by party Presidium Chairman E Madhusudanan, will take stock of the political situation in the country in general and in Tamil Nadu in particular, besides analysing reasons for the defeat of the alliance, party sources said.
