Hitting out at the All India Anna DMK (AIADMK) chief Jayalalithaa for criticising the State Budget, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Friday said her party henceforth should be termed as "Amma DMK" as she had described the budget as "empty rhetoric."

"It is no longer Anna DMK, but Amma DMK now. So all these announcements might be rhetorics for her," Karunanidhi sarcastically wrote in DMK's mouthpiece 'Murasoli', reacting to Jayalalithaa's criticism against the budget, which was presented in the State Assembly on Thursday.

The AIADMK founder late MG Ramachandran christened his party after his political mentor late CN Annadurai, called affectionately by his followers as 'Anna' (big brother).

On her remarks that though the budget had announced a number of power projects, the state was enveloped by darkness, he said power projects could not be commissioned instantly.

If Jayalalithaa government had planned these projects, the state would not have faced any power problems, he said.-*-
