Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Airport Developers on Wednesday urged the Delhi High Court to issue an interim stay against the process of handing over Delhi and Mumbai airports to private consortia for modernisation, until the matter was finally disposed of.

The company charged the Government with trying to "push things" through with "undue haste" and feared that there were strong possibilities of major commercial decisions being taken in the next two-three days.

Resuming the marathon arguments for the third consecutive day, Senior Counsel for Reliance Airport Developers Mukul Rohtagi alleged that even while the matter was being heard by the High Court, the Centre and the consortia were negotiating an agreement by which the AAI was proceeding to create the equity in favour of the GMR-Fraport combine and GVK Industries.

Any such move by the Government was illegal as the matter was subjudice since the High Court was dealing with the matter, Rohtagi contended.
