Addressing the students, Ram said AU authorities were trying to ruin students’ career by reducing seats in the varsity. He said that the students were expecting more seats after the university attained central status, but the authorities had disappointed them by reducing seats.

AISA varsity unit president Prem Shankar Singh welcomed some increase in post graduate seats and demanded more seats in graduate courses as well. He threatened to take the agitation to roads and garner public support against the dictatorial attitude of the varsity authorities. AISA AU vice president Deepak Singh said that no proposal had been forwarded by the AU grievance committee regarding reduction in fee and the students were forced to pay more fee as compared to other central universities. He said it seemed that AU authorities were in no mood to implement the central fee structure in the varsity.
