Will marriage affect Aishwarya Rai’s career? Most trade pundits believe that she’s in top form right now, what with the rocking box-office performances of Dhoom 2 and Guru. Jag Mundhra’s Provoked has brought her critical acclaim. In between, there were downers like Umrao Jaan and The Mistress of Spices.

On being contacted, her business manager, Hari Singh, said, “She has 15 producers waiting to sign her on or narrate scripts to he. But she is taking one film at a time.”

Right now she is busy with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar and has committed to do films for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Ram Gopal Varma ( Sarkar 2). Her current fee is beleived to be in the range of Rs 3 crore per film.

Leena Yadav, who has worked with Rai in Shabd, says, “Aishwarya is a thorough professional and a very intense actor.”

Rahul Rawail, who directed her first Hindi movie Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, observes, “Aishwarya’s growth as an actor has been phenomenal. She deserves more than what she has got and will get.”
