'Aishwarya Rai' in Chhattisgarh village's voter list

The Bollywood star's name figures in the voter list of Ghughri village which falls under Pathalgaon assembly constituency. The accompanying photo makes it clear that it is not some namesake, but Mrs Abhishek Bachchan herself, Jashpur Collector L S Ken said today.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is the native of Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district if the electoral roll in Ghughri village in Pathalgaon is to be believed.

According to the voters' list of polling station No. 15, Aishwarya Rai is 23-years-old, and stays in house No. 376 in the village. Her father is purportedly one Dinesh Rai, the collector said.

Nobody by these names live in the area, he said, and added that Bagicha Sub Divisional Magistrate KP Dewangan has been asked to probe the matter and submit a report within 15 days.

Prima facie it appeared to be a prank, he said.
