SAMAJWADI PARTY MP Akhilesh Singh Yadav on Saturday rejected outright Rahul Gandhi’s charge that the State Government did not cooperate in the development of Rae Bareli.

Akhilesh was speaking to mediapersons before taking out a cycle rally in support of party candidate Raj Kumar Chaudhary.

The rally was taken out from Ratapur crossing in the city to Murai ka Bagh, covering a distance of 30 km. He said there might have been just one or two instances when the State Government may not have been able to help due to a number of reasons. He denied that the Rae Bareli by-election was a Rahul Gandhi vs Akhilesh Yadav affair. He said the Congress and the Samajwadi Party were in the fray.

He further said Raj Kumar Chaudhary was a candidate of the poor and the common man.
