All Janpads? working to be computerised

ENTIRE WORK in all the 54 Janpad Panchayats of the division would be computerized and software has been developed for this purpose.

Giving this information at a meeting of collectors and district panchayat CEOs of the division held here today, the divisional commissioner Ashok Das said computer training programme for panchayat secretaries and panchayat workers would be held from January till March next year.

Das directed that all collectors and district panchayat CEOs should take personal interest in ensuring that the training programme runs smoothly. He said that a four-day special software training programme would be held from December 16 at Regional Rural Development Training Centre, Rau.

He said that of the 54 Janpad Panchayats, so far computers have been installed in 34 and would soon be installed in the remaining 20 offices. Das directed that the budget allotted for all the development works should be utilised and monitored regularly. He also said that all advance preparation for the proper implementation of Employment Guarantee Scheme should be completed on time.

About the water situation in the districts due to scanty rainfall this year, the collectors informed the commissioner that they have prepared contingency plans which has been sent to the State government. Das also inquired about the status of work at the Gokul Grams, survey of land to demarcate revenue and forest land, position of power supply, implementation of Right to Information Act, among other things.

Those who attended the meeting included Indore collector Vivek Agrawal, Dhar collector DP Ahuja, Khargone collector SK Pal, Jhabua collector Nishant Barbare, Khandwa collector Nikunj Shrivastava, Barwani collector Vishwamohan Upadhyay, Burhanpur collector Suraj Damore, deputy commissioner (development) RK Khare, deputy commissioner (revenue) Ms Vandana Vaid and all the district panchayat CEOs were present.
