Employees on election duty left for their respective polling stations on Friday.

The entire Kauriram assembly segment has been divided into 33 sectors and seven zones. Sector magistrates have been deployed and have been directed to strictly implement the electoral code of conduct.

Political parties are making last minutes efforts to woo the electorate in their favour. SSP Dipesh Kumar Juneja said 10 CRPF jawans would be deployed at each polling station and intensive checking of vehicles would be undertaken.

Seventeen barriers have been erected in the assembly segment to check the movement of vehicles. Besides, six circle officers, 110 sub-inspectors, 800 constables, 12 companies of CRPF and three companies of PAC will maintain strict vigil during the polling.

Responding to a question, Juneja said that 360 licensee arms had been surrendered and around 200 anti-social elements were booked in various cases. The officials’ will be mobile to maintain strict vigil at sensitive polling stations.

Meanwhile, political parties have left no stone unturned to ensure their victory and have started door-to-door campaign after the election campaign came to an end.
