Alumni meet to coincide with function
ALUMNI MEET - 2006 of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) will be held on November 11-12 to coincide with the convocation function of the deemed university.

"In its journey of more than four decades, the institutes has come a long way.
The institute was set up in the year 1961 and the first batch of BE students passed out in the year 1965. The Institute has produced 41 batches and more than 12000 engineering graduates and they have been holding high positions of vice presidents, directors, general managers etc in various parts of the world," said MNNIT Director Prof Arun Baran Samaddar.
He said that those in the government services were now serving as chief engineers and similar other senior positions. "The institute has also produced about 4000 MTech, 200 MMS and 1000 MCA besides 150 PhD students," he added.
"A very huge gathering of alumni is expected during this meet," said Dean Student Affairs Prof Rakesh Narain. He said that RL Dube, Director, Planning and New Services, BSNL an alumnus of 1967 batch, had consented to be the chief guest while KJ Rao of 1977 batch would be the guest of honour.
"We shall felicitate all the alumni of 1981 batch, in the silver jubilee felicitation programme. About 50 alumni from the 1981 batch are expected to join," he added.
Prof Narain said that alumni from Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Kolkata, Meerut have confirmed their visits. "A few are also expected from abroad too," he said.
Prof Narain said that the alumni will also have an open house discussion with present students of the Institute with an objective to formulate action plans for the development of the institute further. The Alumni shall also deliberate upon the follow up discussions on Vision-2025.
A cultural night has also been planned on this occasion in which the famous band—Euphoria will perform.
