Grandmaster Anand won second of the four games in the final and drew the remaining matches to defend his title. It was the sixth time the Chennai-born Anand has won the title, according to the official tournament website.
While the first game had ended in a draw, Anand won the second. The rest of the games were also drawn as Topalov failed to match the Indian's pace.
Last year, Anand had rallied to beat Rustam Kasimdzhanov of Uzbekistan in the finals.
