According to sources, the chief secretary of Andhra had recommended that an option should be given to the AIS officers to choose a cadre as there might be a law and order problem for officers from the rest of Andhra if they would be asked to serve in Telangana. But in view of the ministry there were very few senior officers belonging to Telangana. “It may be better for somebody to work in Telangana after being allocated as per roster rather than as per his option, if law and order problem is to be considered,” said the note prepared by the ministry of personnel.
The ministry has asked for constitution of an advisory committee to give recommendations for distribution of the officers. Similarly there will be a state advisory committee for allocation of state government employees which will be headed by a retired union secretary rank officer with chief secretaries or their nominees as members.
