A TWO-DAY animated film festival commenced at Ravindra Bhavan on Saturday. The fest has been organised by Alliance Francaise de Bhopal and Embassy of France in India in collaboration with HT PACE.
Festival started with the movie titled ‘The King and the Mockingbird’, in which King Charles V+III=VIII=XVI, the tyrant who rules the kingdom of Takicardia, is in love with a shepherdess and wants to marry her. But she is in love with a chimneysweeper, who returns her affection.
The police are pursuing them and everyone is after them. Flying machines, piloted by mustachioed policeman, mysterious dirty gray creatures who spy on the city, motorized newts and even the king himself seated on his floating electric throne, or astride an enormous robot, all are tracking the shepherdess and her lover. The chase is on…
‘Kirikou and the Sorceress’ was the second movie to be screened, which was also enjoyed by the audience. Ananya Seth, a class VII student of St. Joseph Convent, Idgah Hills said that she enjoyed all the three movies very much.
Vaibhav Walia, class IV student of Bal Bhavan School said, “I got very useful information about animation. The story of ‘The Dog, the General and the Birds’ impressed me very much.” Next three movies will be screened today at Ravindra Bhavan from 5:00 pm.
