The 22-year-old girl in her complaint said Shamli Kumar, a Loni resident, had first befriended her and then clicked her nude pictures at a secret location.
He also exhorted Rs 80,000 from the girl in three installments for not making the pictures public, the complaint said.
The girl said she had lodged a complaint with the police in Bareilly on June 3, 2008, but no action was taken by the district police.
A first information report was filed at the Loni police station on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police (City) Anant Dev said: "Earlier the girl had approached Bareilly police, we registered the case instantly when she approached us."
