According to available information, CK Udapure (45), the sectional engineer of the Central Railway, killed himself by consuming poison at his chamber at the railway station. No suicide note was found at the site, city police informed.

It was on Monday morning that one .D K Singh (48), a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, shot himself at the railway station. The reasons for the suicide were not known as he did not leave any suicide note behind.

Earlier, a senior police officer of the General Railway Police Force (GRPF) shot himself in the head last week with his service revolver. The GRP Additional SP Mujib Karjatkar (38) died on the spot. In a suicide note, Karjatkar had allegedly blamed a woman subordinate employee at Pune police commissionerate for his taking the extreme step. The suicide note alleged that the employee, a steno of additional police commissioner, Pune (South), was harassing him by lodging false complaints against him and also instigating his wife.

The local railway employees union alleged that Udapure had committed suicide because of tremendous pressures from the higher ups.

The police sent the body for a post mortem.
