Ansari brothers back in jail

Mukhtar Ansari, his brother SP-MP Afzal Ansari and their brother-in-law Ejaz Ansari are accused of murdering BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai, reports Bharat Kumar.

The independent MLA and jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari, his brother SP-MP Afzal Ansari and their brother-in-law Ejaz Ansari, all accused in BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai murder case, have been taken back to Ghazipur jail from Jhansi by an ambulance amid tight security cover on Wednesday. They were likely to arrive in the evening in Ghazipur jail.

It may be noted that all three were lodged in Ghazipur jail and had been transferred to Jhansi on the instruction of the Election Commission (EC) on April 29 to ensure free and fair polls of the sixth phase in Ghazipur on May 3.

The BJP leaders had demanded from the EC to shift them for a free and fair poll in the district.
