Anti-sealing protest: BSF deployed at Seelampur

BSF was deployed on Thursday in Seelampur locality of North-East Delhi, which witnessed police firing and large-scale violence that claimed four lives.

A day after the traders' bandh turned violent with protestors fighting pitched battles with police, two companies of BSF comprising nearly 250 jawans were deployed even as an uneasy calm prevailed in the area.

With the bodies of the dead to be handed over to the relatives after post mortem later in the day, government is apprehending fresh outbreak of violence and the deployment of BSF was seen as a precautionary measure.

Four persons were killed in violence and police firing on Wednesday after thousands of persons clashed with police during the bandh called by traders to protest the MCD's sealing drive.
