Army, a reflection of our society

I would only like to add that the social conditions in the country should also be taken into account besides the background, education and training of the army officers. The kind of stuff that is being doled out on our TV channels, the miserable state in which the families of these army men live facing the civic authorities and other social problems do play a decisive role in the behaviour pattern of officers, when they face the public.

They have scant regard for the police because in the event of serious calamities, they are called to perform the dirty and difficult duties; the policemen only enjoy the loot of the relief material.
