Army jawan commits suicide in Jammu

In yet another case of suicide, an Army jawan, during the wee hours of Thursday, shot himself dead at an Army camp, Nagrota, 15 kms from Jammu, reports Zorawar Singh Jamwal.

In yet another case of suicide, an Army jawan, during the wee hours of Thursday, shot himself dead at an Army camp, Nagrota, 15 kms from Jammu.

According to an Army spokesperson, "the deceased identified as Sepoy Manveer Singh of 54 Rashtriya Rifle (RR) and a resident of Harayana was in Jammu in the camp seeking an educational course since March, this year. The deceased shot self with his service weapon resulting into his death on the spot."

"Immediately after hearing the gunshot, another Army jawan deployed on duty reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem. A court of inquiry has been instituted to ascertain the fact behind the incident," informed an Army spokesperson.
