High frequency brain waves lead to anxiety and disharmony and the body does not keep up with the expectations.

Brain waves are measured in pulses called Hertz. There are four categories of brain wave patterns. The most rapid is called a beta brain wave pattern, the pattern of normal waking consciousness, and this measurement is somewhere between 14 Hz and 100 Hz.

The higher the frequency of the brain waves the faster we perceive things, can concentrate better, and are in a highly alert stage of arousal of all our mental faculties. On the flip side, high frequency brain waves also lead to anxiety and disharmony, as experiences around the body do not keep up with the expectations of these frequencies. So a sort of a dis-ease follows, which could very easily translate into a physical disorder, if the human does not have the ability to either switch off after a while, or slow down his thinking.

As you become more relaxed, your brain wave activity slows into what is called an alpha brain wave pattern. Alpha patterns vary from deep alpha, a state of deep relaxation often referred to as the twilight state between sleep and waking, to the higher end of alpha which is a more focused yet still very relaxed state. It is at this stage that we feel a sort of euphoric peace in the heart and is the starting point of a meditative awareness. Ranging between 8 Hz to 13.9 Hz, these wave patterns induce relaxation, and cause the person to get into a light trance, where superlearning, that is using the connection to the Higher Self to access and store knowledge, becomes imminently possible. At this stage there is an increased production of serotonin in the brain, leading to a state between sleeping and wakefulness.

Slower still are theta waves, moving between 4 Hz to 7.9 Hz. Theta is best known as the brain wave state of dreaming sleep, commonly known as REM, but it is also associated with a number of other beneficial states, including increased creativity, some kinds of superlearning, increased memory abilities, and what are called integrative experiences (in which we make broadly-based positive changes in the way we see ourselves, others, or a certain life situation). A lot of 'inspired' action is based on flashes of intuition that come during this state.

This is an entry point into the depths of the unconscious mind. If we consciously focus our attention solely on the spiritual learning process just prior to entering this state, we can evolve by leaps and bounds, transforming our sleep state into a journey through higher dimensions.

The theta state also bypasses the self sabotaging filters of our left-brain activities, and allows us uninterrupted access to the spiritual realms.

The delta state, 0.1 to 3.9 Hz is the most relaxed state of all, and is a stepping stone into the space time continuum, from the constricting linear dimensions of our Earth time. Time seems to stand still, and we are afforded a peek into what we truly are, liberated souls in a true union with the collective unconscious of the Cosmos! Body awareness is reduced to nil, and it only as 'true soul' that we can experience ourselves.
