RESENTMENT IS brewing among the Hindus here against the alleged formation of artificial shivlinga in the holy Amarnath cave.

Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, founder president of Ved Parayan Samiti Ashok Dwivedi expressed concern over the alleged formation of ‘artificial and chemically-made Shivlingam at Amarnath cave this year and termed it as an ‘unvedic work’ which hurt the sentiments of the Hindus.
Dwivedi said the formation of the Him Shivlinga at Amarnath cave was a natural process and no one had the right to interfere with the natural phenomenon. He added some officials were giving the premise that an artificial Him Shivlinga was made there to protect the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
He said such type of logic was ridiculous.
“If the Shivlinga was not formed this year, the officials should have acknowledged to the people about it very clearly because in our Hindu religion, this place has religious importance,” he said.Dwivedi demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter.
However, sources said due to heat inside the cave shrine following unprecedented rush of devotees, the gradual melting of the natural Shivlingam was a natural phenomenon reported every year.
“Raising this issue itself has hurt the sentiments of Hindus and those who raises this issue seem to have a motive behind it,” a die hard Hindu visiting Amarnath cave shrine every year said.
